Health Data Scientist

What You’ll Do:
Genospace is seeking a Health Data Scientist to help deliver key insights and drive decision-making from a high volume and wide range of patient health data sources. The Health Data Scientist’s primary focus will be applying machine learning, natural language processing, and image processing techniques, as well as conducting statistical analysis and building high quality prediction systems that integrate with Genospace’s precision medicine products.
As a Health Data Scientist at Genospace, you will:
Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
Apply natural language processing to identify key features for patients and clinical trials.
Select features and build and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques.
Integrate protected and proprietary data with external and public information repositories.
Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
Develop novel research questions and lead the investigation and presentation of scientific results in peer-reviewed publications and conferences.
Collaborate with physician and clinical thought leaders in the design and application of outcomes/health economics research in alignment with strategic goals.
Support concept development, protocol design, and analytic plan development for outcomes research and discovery projects.
Work in close, regular collaboration with engineering and implementation teams.What We’re Looking For:
Strong experience with a data science relevant programming language, such as R and/or Python.
Experience in natural language processing and/or image processing.
Experience with web-scraping and APIs.
Excellent scripting and programming skills.
Great written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Gradient Boosting etc.
Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, ggplot, plotly, matplotlib, bokeh, etc.
Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, survival analysis, dimension reduction, etc.Education & Background:
Masters degree in quantitative field or extensive experience in data science related field.
Familiarity with clinical data.
Familiarity with health economics and outcomes.
Comfortable with concepts in the relevant field of application - therapeutics, molecular biology, DNA, oncology, clinical trials, HIPAA.COVID-19 Considerations:

What You’ll Do:
Genospace is looking for a Product Owner who can understand and advocate for the needs of our users; as well as coordinate the fulfillment of those needs through effective communication between stakeholders, software development teams, and User Experience (UX) researchers.
As a Product Owner, you will bring strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to our organization. In this role you will represent the voice of the user, working closely with product leadership, UX, and engineering teams to help define and execute the product vision. This will require you to deeply understand the problems of some of the most innovative healthcare providers and life sciences companies, and create products that will impact patients at the most critical juncture of their lives.
As a Product Owner you will:
Act as a stakeholder for the product and represent the “voice of the customer” internally
Participate in the development of business use cases, user personas, and needs assessment studies to elicit product requirements and inform product design and development through user research
Translate product requirements into agile user stories and guide prioritization of the product backlog
Define user acceptance criteria to facilitate validation of implemented solutions
Participate in sprint ceremonies within the agile development framework, including grooming of the product backlog, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives
Collaborate with product leaders, UX, and development teams to organize tasks within a project, coordinate product schedules and delivery timelines, and test and bring features to successful release
Receive hands-on experience maintaining 21 CFR Part 11 validation standards
Build subject matter expertise around the product line and relevant industry trends
Develop strong relationships and communication with all teams involved in executing a project, including internal stakeholders and users of the product
Iterate on product releases through analyzing user metrics (quantitative) and feedback (qualitative) to bring forward new feature ideasWhat We’re Looking For:
Cursory knowledge of the industry landscape and biomedical domain, with an emphasis on healthcare data and resources; prior experience in the oncology and/or clinical trial landscape is preferred
A strong willingness to learn demonstrated through asking questions, seeking out guidance, and building communication skills with teammates
Working knowledge of the software development process, with an emphasis on Agile development methodologies, and various tools used to support this process (e.g. Jira, Google Analytics)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in all aspects of the job, including meeting facilitation, presentations, and product demonstrations
An ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authorityEducation & Background:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
1-3 years of product management or business analytics experience (or equivalent) is preferred, such as creating strategic product roadmaps and working with cross-functional teams

What You’ll Do
Work on a small team to design, develop, test, release, and support features in our web-based, cloud-hosted applications
Provide feedback to your teammates through code and software design reviews, collaborating with and learning from each other while delivering great software

What We’re Looking For
Experience building web applications or data processing systems
Familiarity with web technologies and a depth of experience with at least one common programming language
A demonstrable ability to design software to meet functional and technical requirements and to communicate your designs effectively
